OUR PRICING TRANSPARENCY POLICY
From 6th December 2018, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) requires all law firms to publish their transparent pricing in certain areas of law in which they practice and deliver their legal services.
CHARGES AND EXPENSES:
Our charges are based on the time we spend dealing with a case. Time spent on your affairs will include meeting with you and perhaps others; any time spent traveling; considering, preparing, and working on papers, correspondence, and making and receiving telephone calls.
The current hourly rates of our solicitors and fee earners unless otherwise agreed, are as follows:
Principal/Solicitors over 8 years PQE: £300.00 Excl VAT
Other Solicitors over 4years experience: £250.00 Excl VAT
Other Solicitors: £200.00 Excl VAT
Trainee Solicitors: £165.00 Excl VAT
Others: By agreement
In the vast majority of cases, we are able to offer our clients an agreed fixed fee to prepare and represent.
At Broad Street Solicitors we undertake work on a legal aid basis for most criminal law cases. However, the majority of motoring offences, save for the most serious offences where a person is at risk of a custodial sentence legal aid is not available or might be subject to the assessment of your financial eligibility. Therefore, most motoring offences will be charged privately on an hourly basis. At commencement, we will provide a clear estimate of costs from the start and will keep you updated on the costs throughout your case.
All payments made to third parties are not inclusive of any of the fees listed below i.e cost of instructing a barrister or an expert. Each case falls on its own facts and additional third-party costs may be necessary depending on the length and complexity of your case. Where an expert witness is required i.e. forensic expert the costs may need to be added to the below estimates of fees. Fees of this nature can range from £500 plus VAT to £2000 plus VAT. We will let you know at the earliest opportunity and before any such fees are incurred.

Please note that all fees are exclusive of VAT, which is at a standard rate of 20%.
The estimate above includes our initial consultation, considering evidence, taking instructions from you, providing advice, and representing you at the Magistrates Court. However, the above estimate does not include any work to be undertaken to progress an appeal on your behalf, taking instructions of any expert witnesses and taking statements from any witnesses.
The fees above are dependent on the nature, complexity, and time spent on the case, during initial consultation a more accurate fee will be determined

Timescale: We estimate these matters to take anything from 3 – 12months. Please note that this is only a rough estimate as your matter may take longer if other issues arise.
Immigration Service Fees
The figures below are estimates, price varies in cases with particular complexities, urgency, importance, implications, and location of the matter at hand. The figures do not include the cost of preparing for Court hearings, Instructing any expert, barrister, preparing statements for witnesses, and any appeal process. We will let you know at the earliest opportunity and before any such fees are incurred by yourself, if any of these are applicable
In the event that any unexpected complications arise that have an impact on our fees, we would immediately inform you.

Each case falls on its own facts and additional third-party costs may be necessary depending on the length and complexity of your case.
Please note that as the government fees change from time to time, we will advise you at the outset of all government fees relevant to your application and Immigration Health Surcharge where applicable. Home Office fees, including the Immigration Health Surcharge, can be found HERE and HERE
However, for most Immigration applications, the Home Office introduced a system where applications are completed online, once your application is completed applicants will be advised of the appropriate fees required. In some cases, you would also need to pay to secure the Home Office appointments, this payment would be made to their commercial partner, Sopra Steria.
We note that from time to time our client may need the assistance of an Interpreter, please note that this will also be at an additional cost. Interpreters’ charges vary, we estimate interpreter fees to be in the region £25 – £150 per hour (including for travel time), + VAT (if applicable).
Where an expert witness is required the costs would be added to the below estimates of fees. Fees of this nature can range from £500 plus VAT to £5000 plus VAT. We will let you know at the earliest opportunity and before any such fees are incurred.
